How to become one of the Best!

How did I get to where I am today?

Lots of hard work, consistently training, mostly mental pain, at times it felt draining, but I enjoyed it through all of that. It required my sweat, IQ and tears. However even though it was hard after a while it became easy as well as fun. Showing that through this sport you can enjoy yourself and at a point make money from it.

How can chess connect you with others?

The world of chess has brought me many wonders, for one instance when travelling to a tournament in Almeria Spain, I met one of my best friends today, Lucas Stannard Parages, who also lives in England around 20 minutes away from me. This is just one of the many people I have met on my travels playing, a big majority were very interesting.

Is there a limit to the amount of fun to be had?

No, depending on the opponent the games can become interesting, hard but in the end all you will find is enjoyment. However without practise and consistency, you may not enjoy it as much because of a lack of skill. SO PERSEVERE and reap the rewards

TOP 5 TIPS!

For beginners:
1. LEARN THE MOVES. Each chess piece can move only a certain way.

2. OPEN WITH A PAWN. Either in front of the king or queen.

3. GET THE KNIGHTS AND BISHOPS OUT. This is very useful as it will help you in the long term of the game

4. WATCH YOUR BACK! Think moves ahead, don't get lured in by each move, think of the future.

5. DON'T WASTE TIME. This is less a tip but if you want to enjoy the game and allow your opponent to enjoy it, don't waste too much time.
